A pile of debris rests on an armchair.
“Is there a chance to slip away from oblivion ; “ it asks itself
“Can desertion have a body ;”
“I want to be a monument built from demolished houses!”
The sculpture consists of an armchair and debris both found in abandoned Athenian houses of the last century.
Material value and material culture, the ephemeral aspect of life and security, the menace of time and war, memory, oblivion and insignificancy are some of the questions that this work lays upon its audience.
